Felipe A. Cañete Martinez was born Jan. 29, 1976, in Curico, Chile; he died May 17, 2013, in Seattle.
Felipe is survived by Katy, his loving wife of nine years; their son Rio Malai; his parents, Alamiro and Elvira; his brother, Franco; and his extended family in Chile and Seattle as well as many friends worldwide.
One of Felipe’s passions was music, which he expressed so beautifully through his bands Luc and the Lovingtons and Sing with Senior. He was a teacher and guide to many.
If it was up to Felipe, the whole world would wear more clown noses, play more innocent pranks, and live from their hearts. He inspired people to be in the moment with gratitude and joy and to do what you really, truly love in life. His infectious laughter lives on.
A celebration of life will be held Friday (May 31) from 4:30-10 p.m. at Gasworks Park, Seattle.
