Edward Ellis Dunkin, 65, of Twisp, passed away March 30, 2013, at Hospice House of Spokane. Ed was born in Chelan, Wash., to Lucille Morse Dunkin and Robert Conrad Dunkin Sr. The family moved to Twisp in 1951. He was a long-time Eagles member. He worked in the press room at newspapers in Spokane and Oregon, and was a butcher and bartender in Twisp. He loved golf, fishing, pool and darts with his bar buddies.
Ed graduated from Twisp High School in 1967.
Survivors include son Thaddeus “TD” Dunkin of Winthrop; daughter Jessica (Philip) Guilmet and grandchildren Elizabeth, Emma and Thaddeus Patrick Guilmet of Nine Mile Falls, Wash.; mother Lucille (Lou) Dunkin and sister Ann Smith of Twisp; brothers Bob Dunkin Jr. (Patti), Reno, Nev., and Richard (Gretchen), Valdez, Alaska. Preceding Edward in passing was his father Robert C. Dunkin Sr., sister and brother-in-law, Patricia and Gene Autrey, and brother-in-law Frank Smith.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date in early May. Donations will be much appreciated and can be made to Hospice of Spokane, P.O. Box 2215, Spokane, WA 99210-2215.
