Merc fund honors Wenzel

May 19, 2013 by Methow Valley News

arts-julie

The Merc Playhouse has created a Julie Wenzel Children’s Program Fund, honoring the Merc’s outgoing artistic director, to help fund theater productions featuring kids.

Wenzel, who has been artistic director at the Merc since 2009, directed the recent Children’s Theater production of Alice in Wonderland. She and her husband, Mark, who is superintendent of the Methow Valley School District, are leaving the community this summer because Mark has been named superintendent of the Anacortes School District.

Send contributions for the children’s program fund to The Merc Playhouse, P.O. Box 425, Twisp, WA 98856. Call 997-7529 for more information, or visit www.mercplayhouse.org. Donations are tax-deductible.
