Halloween party

Costume contest, dancing to a “killer” DJ, beer and cider, tasty eats from a food truck, Jell-O syringes, and raffle prizes when the Twisp Valley Grange is transformed into a spooky palace. All proceeds support the Okanogan Open Roads Coalition.

Trick or treat in Twisp

Annual Burgar Street Halloween extravaganza, with lots of treats, spooky decorations, and a few tricks. The generous residents of Burgar Street always appreciate donations of candy, since they get more than 300 trick or treaters each year.

Burgar Street will be closed to traffic from 5 to 10 p.m.

Trunk or treat in Winthrop

The Methow Valley United Methodist Church is sponsoring the treats, which will be distributed from decorated cars on the main street in Winthrop, starting at Sheri’s Sweet Shoppe.

Omak Haunted House

If you’re in Omak and want some thrills and chills, visit the Omak Haunted House. The Okanogan Valley Orchestra & Chorus and the Omak Chamber of Commerce promise an “awesome, terrifying, adrenalin rush–inducing” tour of the haunted house, plus a G-rated kids’ zone with face-painting, crafts, pumpkin decorating and games.

The tour of the haunted house is $5; the kids’ zone is $3.

Friday and Saturday (Oct. 26 and 27), 7 to 11 p.m.

Methow Valley Senior Center

Be a zombie, a princess or a superhero. The Methow Valley Senior Center has been setting aside cool costumes for Halloween fun. Outfits and accessories are available for $3 a bag at the Senior Center in Twisp on Thursday and Friday (Oct. 25 and 26) from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Saturday (Oct. 27) from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., and Monday (Oct. 29) from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Dress to the nines with a memorable outfit or festive accessories from the Okanogan Valley Orchestra & Chorus (OVOC) Costume Shop. The collection — thousands of costumes in all — includes everything from medieval garb to Victorian gowns to witches’ capes and vampire regalia. Most are for adults, but there’s also a wide selection for children. All proceeds benefit OVOC.
