“Remember only the love” by Teresa Magel is one of the works that will be on display when the new exhibits open.

Two new exhibits will open with a public reception at Confluence Gallery in Twisp on Jan. 13. The free event runs from 4 to 8 p.m. Both exhibits will run through Feb. 24:

• “The Beholden Eye: Concepts of Beauty,” featuring works by contributing artists who were invited to submit in all mediums, responding to the theme of “what is beautiful?”

• “Deadly Beauty,” featuring works in encaustic mixed media by Salyna Gracie. Gracie describes the exhibit as “an exploration of the artist’s fascination with the power of plants and their capacity to harm or heal, drawing our attention to the fine line between death and enlightenment.” Gracie, who is the gallery’s executive director, has exhibited her works in galleries around the Pacific Northwest since 2011.
