Tom Oliver Marrier

Tom Oliver Marrier of Wylie, Texas, passed away Dec. 8, 2017, at the age of 67. He was born March 2, 1950, to Mickey Marrier and LaDonna Lucille (Lucky) Marrier in Seattle, Washington. Tom married Lesa Gayle (Combs) Marrier on March 14, 1995, in Beeville, Texas.

He was a man of faith and trusted his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Tom served his country proudly in the U.S. Army for nine years. He was highly decorated during his time served in Vietnam. He received many honors including the Purple Heart and Bronze Star.

Tom was a successful mortician and funeral home director for 16 years. He owned, designed and operated the Maddox-Marrier Funeral Home in Jacksboro, Texas, and owned the Quanah Funeral Home in Quanah, Texas. Whenever possible, he took advantage and enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, hunting, camping and ranch style living. Most of all, he enjoyed sharing these moments with his sons. He never met a stranger and was known for befriending and helping others. Tom was truly a man’s man, he was a man of his word, honorable and passionate in everything he did. He loved his country, his flag and his people. Tom was a proud husband, father, grandfather and friend. He will forever go on in our memories and will live forever in our hearts.

He is survived by wife, Lesa Marrier of Wylie, Texas; children, Chase Marrier of Carrollton, Texas, Chad Marrier of Uxbridge, Massachusetts, and Shannon Lee of Wenatchee, Washington; stepsons, JR Combs of Childress, Texas, and Chad Combs of Forney, Texas; 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and brother, Jerry Marrier of Washington. Tom was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Marcie Marrier (1972), parents, Mickey and LaDonna Marrier, and his dog/best friend, Lucky. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2017, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen, Texas, from 3 – 5 p.m.
