The fall varsity sports season for Liberty Bell High School gets underway with competition this week.

The boys’ and girls’ basketball teams warmed up for the season at the Okanogan Jamboree on Tuesday (Nov. 28). Regular season play starts Thursday (Nov. 30) when both teams visit Okanogan.

Next Tuesday (Dec. 5), the Mountain Lions and Lady Lions host Waterville-Mansfield in the first home games of the year. The girls tip off at 6 p.m; the boys start play at 7:30 p.m. The teams then travel to Lake Roosevelt on Thursday (Dec. 7), and will host Brewster the following Saturday (Dec. 9).

Junior high boys’ play is already underway. Girls’ junior high basketball competition begins in January.

The Liberty Bell Wrestling team hit the mats on Wednesday (Nov. 29) at the Okanogan Jamboree. The team will host the Liberty Bell Mixer next Wednesday (Dec. 6), with action beginning at 6 p.m. On the following Saturday (Dec. 9), the grapplers will take part in the Okanogan Invite.
