After a two-year absence, the Brandenburg Memorial Crab Feed and Auction is back.

The event is scheduled for Oct. 7 at the Winthrop Barn. Doors open at 5 p.m. and dinner is served until 9 p.m.

Darold and Sheila Brandenburg had organized the event for more than half-a-dozen years to raise money for the Jordan and Chase Brandenburg Scholarship. Several years ago the Brandenburg family established a nonprofit foundation to provide educational scholarships to Liberty Bell High School graduates in memory of their sons Jordan and Chase. The scholarships are geared to wrestlers and others involved in the sport. Consideration is given to applicants’ grades, goals for further education and community service.

Darold Brandenburg said this week that the event was canceled the past two summers because of fire-related concerns in the valley, and scheduling problems.

“It takes a lot of energy and time, and a lot of volunteers, to put it on,” he said of the event.

The base price for the crab dinner is $35, or $45 for an extra crab. There is also a chicken dinner option available. There will be a no-host bar. Tickets are available at Twisp Daily Business and the Tenderfoot in Winthrop.

There will be a silent auction featuring items donated by local merchants.
