The Winter Sale starts this Saturday (Sept. 30), from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.  There will be lots of clothes to keep you warm this winter, and some winter toys too – snowshoes, skates, sleds, etc.

We must have the best, most-valuable garbage in town, as our midnight shoppers keep tearing the side of the dumpster enclosure off and crawling in. They throw stuff around and make a big mess for us to clean up. Even though they are on camera they still continue to do this and take donations. Things donated are not free.

We are also getting a lot of dirty junk that fills our dumpster to overflowing between pickups. This makes our bill higher. If this keeps up, we may have to raise our prices to help cover the garbage bill. And if you have hardback books, we have too many now. Please take them to Okanogan Senior Center where they can recycle them.

The Senior Center is located next to the Methow Valley Community Center on Highway 20 in Twisp. Lunch is served at noon by the Okanogan County Transportation and Nutrition Program on Monday, Thursday and Friday. The suggested donation for lunch is $3.50 for seniors over age 60; the cost is $8 for those under 60. Annual membership dues are $1.25.

Transportation is available locally for the senior lunch program, and for monthly trips to Omak/Okanogan the second Tuesday of the month and to Wenatchee the third Tuesday of the month. Call 1-800-635-4391 for additional details.
