Charlene Florence Linzy (Johnson)

Charlene Florence Linzy (Johnson), 81, of Rochester, Washington, passed away March 23, 2017, at Providence St. Peter Hospital in Olympia. She was surrounded by her son, Robert Nelson, and daughters, Joanne (Nelson) Jaeger and Kristen Thorstenson, many family members, and friends during her peaceful passing.

Charlene was born in Winthrop in 1935, the daughter of Charles (Dick) Johnson and Ruth (Hollerud) Johnson. She graduated from Pateros High School in 1953 then attended cosmetology school in Seattle.  She was a loving mother and like a second mother to many. She was a cherished grandma to several grandchildren, related and not related. She enjoyed the last years of her life with her beau, Ron, and their dog, Charlie.

Besides being an amazing hairstylist, Charlene was a master gardener, crafter-seamstress, canner extraordinaire, listener, encourager, and fisherman! Her strong faith in Jesus was her strength and best gift given to her children.

The family will receive friends from 5 – 7 p.m. at Precht Rose Chapel, 332 E. Woodin Ave., Chelan, WA 98816, on Friday (April 7).

A memorial service will be held at Lake Chelan Lutheran Church on Saturday (April 8) at 10 a.m. followed by a graveside gathering at Sullivan Cemetery in Winthrop. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Charlene’s life.
