To all the fathers, I hope you had a great day. It was sure a nice one after Saturday’s rain.

We are in need of paper grocery bags again, so if you have some to spare we would love to have them.

Our rummage room was closed Monday so the wall could get finished after putting in the window. Sometimes we just have to put things on hold, then finish them later. The striping for the bus and parking area was put on hold because of rain showers, so that will be done soon.

We are making plans for the senior members-only barbecue again. Since July 4 is a Monday and there is no meal, we will do the barbecue on July 5. There will be a sign-up sheet here soon. That way, John will know how many burgers to cook. So if you are a member, be sure and sign up.

If you haven’t heard about TRANgo, it’s a bus service that will be running daily from here to Omak and Pateros, and between Twisp and Winthrop.  It is supposed to start July 1. See the Methow Valley News for more information, or check at the center. Sounds cheaper than buying you own gas.

The Thrift Store is open Monday, Thursday and Friday from 9 a.m. – 3:30 p.m., and Saturday during the Farmers Market.

The Senior Center is 

located next to the 
Methow Valley Community Center on Highway 20 in Twisp. Lunch is served at noon by the Okanogan County Transportation and Nutrition Program on Monday, Thursday and Friday. The suggested donation for lunch is $3.50 for seniors over age 60; the cost is $8 for those under 60. Annual membership dues are $1.25.

Transportation is available locally for the senior lunch program, and for monthly trips to Omak/Okanogan the second Tuesday of the month and to Wenatchee the third Tuesday of the month. Call the Senior Center at 997-7722 for additional details.

MONDAY, JUNE 27: Chicken Parmesan, garlic pasta, trio vegetables, cucumber tomato salad, orange quarters, whole wheat roll, cookie.

THURSDAY, JUNE 30: Egg salad sandwich, broccoli cheese soup, tossed vegetable salad, strawberries and bananas, frosted cake.
