Our 2016 over-80 party was a big hit, with a lot of over-80 people showing up. Of course, Mary Bean was the oldest lady, at 101. She was presented with white and red roses. Howard Brewer was the oldest gentleman, at 96. He also got flowers, Thanks to everyone who came, and to all those who helped, and to Judy Zutter for doing such a wonderful job on the cake. We are getting overwhelmed on Sundays with leftover yard sale things. If you can, please bring things later in the week. Right now, there is no room to move in the sorting room and the hall is full. And please, make sure it’s clean, usable things, as our dumpster has been running over with unusable garbage.
Don’t forget the Western Sale starts on Saturday with breakfast at 7:30 a.m. The sale starts at 8 a.m., and there will be a silent auction at noon. You can have a biscuits-and-sausage-gravy and ham breakfast, or coffee and a muffin for a lighter meal. Saddle up and mosey on down – you won’t be disappointed.
The Thrift Store is open Monday, Thursday and Friday from 9 a.m.–3:30 p.m., and Saturday during the Farmers Market.
The Senior Center is located next to the Methow Valley Community Center on Highway 20 in Twisp. Lunch is served at noon by the Okanogan County Transportation and Nutrition Program on Monday, Thursday and Friday. The suggested donation for lunch is $3.50 for seniors over age 60; the cost is $8 for those under 60. Annual membership dues are $1.25.
Transportation is available locally for the senior lunch program, and for monthly trips to Omak/Okanogan the second Tuesday of the month and to Wenatchee the third Tuesday of the month. Call the Senior Center at 997-7722 for additional details.

FRIDAY, JUNE 3: Salisbury steak, potatoes and gravy, trio vegetables, carrot raisin salad, whole wheat roll, berry cobbler.
