For one night a year in the Methow Valley, the trashier you look the better: at the Confluence Gallery’s sixth annual Trashion fashion show this Saturday (April 30).

The event is at the repurposed-couture center of the universe, the Methow Valley Community Center in Twisp. Doors open at 6 p.m. and the models will begin strutting the runway at 7 p.m.

Tickets are $15 at the door or in advance at the gallery, and you must be 13 or older to attend.

Confluence describes the event as “a fabulous runway show with upcycled recycled outfits ranging from street-style to country couture transformed from everyday trash.”

Designers — who piece together exotic outfits from a wide and wild variety of recyclable materials — will compete for several cash prizes, including the Peoples’ Favorite award.

Also available will be a specialty cocktail designed by Copper Glance, a complimentary coffee bar from Blue Star Coffee Roasters, and tapas and desserts by Rocking Horse Bakery. Food and drink will be available at 6 p.m. when the doors open.
