On Saturday the Boy Scouts held a pancake-and-sausage breakfast at the center, to help them raise money for the troop. They did a great job, and breakfast was very good. And they had a dessert auction afterward. In fact they did so well that we asked them to do our cowboy breakfast for us the day the Western Sale starts.

Speaking of the Western Sale — the set-up is coming along great. There will be two sidewalk sales on Saturday (April 30) and May 7.

Sue Sabin won the gift basket last Friday — congratulations.

Most of the snowbirds are back. A few are waiting for the pass to open, so wait no longer, Howard and Joann.

Our over-80 party will be on May 20.

The Thrift Store is open Monday, Thursday and Friday from 9 a.m.–3:30 p.m., and Saturday during the Farmers Market.

The Senior Center is located next to the Methow Valley Community Center on Highway 20 in Twisp. Lunch is served at noon by the Okanogan County Transportation and Nutrition Program on Monday, Thursday and Friday. The suggested donation for lunch is $3.50 for seniors over age 60; the cost is $8 for those under 60. Annual membership dues are $1.25.

Transportation is available locally for the senior lunch program, and for monthly trips to Omak/Okanogan the second Tuesday of the month and to Wenatchee the third Tuesday of the month. Call the Senior Center at 997‑7722 for additional details.

FRIDAY, APRIL 29: Cheese ravioli, Italian vegetables, spiced pears, bread sticks, ice cream.

MONDAY, MAY 2: Hot turkey sandwich, potatoes and gravy, green beans, lettuce tomato salad, cranberry salad, pineapple upside-down cake.

THURSDAY, MAY 5: Chicken cordon bleu, parsley potatoes, Normandy vegetables, tossed green salad, orange quarters, whole wheat roll.

FRIDAY, MAY 6: Barbecue chicken, macaroni salad, cauliflower and chives, spring salad, strawberry shortcake.
