A recent item in News of Record should have said that Carla Sue McCarley, 38, of Twisp, entered an Alford plea in Okanogan County District Court related to a charge of obstructing a law enforcement officer. Under an Alford plea, the defendant does not admit guilt but concedes that the prosecution likely has enough evidence to secure a conviction at trial.

A headline on an article about Okanogan County Electric Cooperative rates in last week’s paper, stating that rates won’t change for most customers, was misleading. While there is no general rate increase anticipated, adjustments will be made in rates for different customer classes. Rates will change for most if not all customers, said General Manager David Gottula. The preliminary rates will be available by the end of June.
