Get ready to roll, and maybe rock a little too. Winthrop’s 39th annual Vintage Wheels Show will be back in town Friday and Saturday (Sept. 5 – 6), with dozens of antique and unusual conveyances, motorized or otherwise, on display.

Classic cars, trucks, motorcycles, tractors, travel trailers, pedal cars and bicycles will be part of the mix at the free event.

Registration for participants begins Friday from 5 – 7 p.m. at the Winthrop Barn parking lot. The public is welcome.

On Saturday, antique cars and trucks begin lining up from 8 – 10:30 a.m. at the Winthrop Inn on Highway 20 in preparation for the parade. Travel trailers, motorcycles, tractors, pedal cars and bicycles will be staging in their respective areas at the same time.

The vehicle parade begins at 11 a.m. They will be parked on Riverside Avenue, which will be closed west of Bridge Street. An awards presentation will be at 3 p.m. Trophies will be awarded for best in show and the public can vote on the People’s Choice award.

The cars, trucks, motorcycles and bicycles will be on Riverside Avenue; bicycles will be at Rocking Horse Bakery. Travel trailers will be up the hill at Pine Near RV Park on Castle Avenue; tractors will be across the street from the RV park at the Shafer Museum.

There will be a street dance on Riverside Avenue from 4:30 – 9 p.m. featuring the music of Horse Crazy, The Packstring Band and the Wild Turkey Band in a fire victim fundraiser.
