Do I smell smoke? Of course. It is our member appreciation barbecue today (Aug. 13). Connie and Rosalie are making a lovely meal for all to savor. Thank you, members. We love ya and wish you the best there is in anything you do. Thank you for supporting us.
We wish to thank all who have donated clothing and household items for fire victim relief. Those who have suffered so much from the recent devastation are able to have free items from us, “free” being the operative word here. Come by and select any things you want.
It is difficult to fathom the amount of items in the kitchen alone that are needed. Please donate good clean items for your neighbors in need. From the look of things, this fire season will continue to confound efforts to stem the flames in many locations. The need for victim relief grows with each new fire. Heard of Christmas in July? Well, I want snow in August! But then the gardeners and orchardists would be hurt.
Take a moment to lend a helping hand and be thankful for the blessings, even the small ones, each of us have received in all of this. It helps us focus on the things that are really important in this life. Keep your pets safe. They can feel owner anxiety and will sometimes run away. We just had a beautiful dog at our house that is now reunited with her owner.
Bingo will be on Aug. 21 after lunch. Come on in, y’all, for fun and frolic and the chance to win part or all of our $50 pot. Each game winner will receive $5 with the final game pot of $10. Who wouldn’t enjoy that?
We have several birthdays for this month and will be celebrating with cake and ice cream. Unfortunately, I am unable to access my computer with all the names. I promise to mention each and every one next writing.
