Whew, why did all this wind arrive? I’ve been told it is unusual. Just spied an ultra light plane heading towards Chicago. He’ll feel right at home in the “Windy City.” Hope he packed a lunch.
Something new and improved: Ann tells me we are having a Mini Western Sale on Labor Day weekend. We’ll sell Western clothing to outfit you for the rodeo. Fun. Start saving your pennies for this. I counted my piggy bank today and found $72.46. Who knew doing laundry could be profitable?
Judy Brezina gifted us hundreds of heirloom organic tomato plants. What a huge gift it was. Church tables will bow from the weight of excess tomatoes and zucchinis this fall. Thank you, Judy for the gift that keeps on giving. I look forward to having bacon, lettuce and Black Prince sandwiches soon. I enjoyed looking for all the varieties on the Internet.
David and Marjory Wilkinson reported a lightning strike that did damage to their home. It hit a tree, which in turn caused the damage when it fell. Sorry for you guys, as you are such wonderful people! Thank you, David, also, for the professionally done picture of all the seniors at the Over 80s Party. Love you both.
If any of you are voracious readers, we have a wonderful array of books at the center. One makes a selection and puts money in the donation box. This also includes magazines, videos, puzzles, DVDs and CDs. Kathy will even save special books for you if you are looking for books in a series. She is the best! Boxes of new and used books come to us all the time. Thank you to all who donate, and those who purchase.
You really need to eat lunch with us sometime. We had barbecue ribs, quiche and lasagna to die for last week. Well, not really “die” — that would shut down our kitchen I guess. Bad for business, that. That was just a figure of speech … didn’t happen … should have kept my mouth shut.
