Primitive skills for kids
Primitive skills expert Katie Russell is offering two training sessions for kids this month at her home on Highway 20 north of Twisp.
Primitive Skills Day Camp, intended for kids aged 7 – 9, will be from June 23 – 26, 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. each day. Cost is $125. Cub Camp, a one-day introductory version, will be on June 28 from 9 a.m. – 1p.m. Activities include friction fire-starting, learning about wild foods, weaving, rawhide crafts, stories, games, songs and nature awareness talks. Spaghetti feed to benefit Wagner pool
The Methow Eagles will host a spaghetti feed and auction to benefit the Wagner Memorial Pool on June 28 at the Eagles Hall in Twisp. Snake awareness for dogs
A rattlesnake aversion clinic for dogs will be offered June 28 at Methow Valley Veterinary Hospital in Winthrop. The event begins at 9 a.m. and costs $75 per dog. The clinic teaches dogs how to avoid rattlesnakes by smell, sound and sight. Dogs must be at least 9 months old. For more information, call 996-3231.
