Jody Olson, artist-in-residence at Methow Valley Elementary, gives Dashe McCabe, right, some assistance crafting and attaching her raccoon’s ears as Lane Darwood looks on. Olson is in her third year of helping local elementary students recreate creatures of the Methow in papier mâché. The animal creations are part of a multi-disciplinary study unit, in which students also research and report scientific facts about their selected critters in the regular classroom.
