Okanogan County Public Health is conducting a community health assessment to get a better understanding of people’s perceptions about health and lifestyle issues.

“We have quantitative data, like mortality rates and health rankings, but want a qualitative view of people’s perceptions,” said Community Health Director Lauri Jones.

The 11-question survey asks people to rate the problems facing Okanogan County — from poverty through transportation through access to medical care.

It also asks about the services that have the greatest impact on people’s health, such as preventive screenings, mental health services, and drug and alcohol treatment. Another question relates to childhood immunizations.

The survey also solicits opinions about environmental issues and quality of life.
