Over 70 people came in for lunch and dancing Friday. The place was hopping and rocking with happy dancers. Bill Hottell’s birthday was Saturday, so everyone sang him a rousing, off-key “Happy Birthday.”
After last Saturday’s big sale, things are getting pretty picked over in the Christmas Room, but we still get things in daily that go out on the shelves. There are lots of Christmas tree stands left if you need one.
We have had quite a few new members sign up in the last few weeks. It’s nice to get new people involved and keep the meals going. More people coming to the meals provides more money for the nutrition and transportation program, which is always struggling to make ends meet with the high cost of food and gas.
We sure need some snow on the ground before the frost gets down to the pipes. We sure don’t need frozen pipes again like last winter. I guess on the bright side, the lakes will be frozen solid for ice fishing, and the skating rink won’t thaw out. Always have to find a bright side to all bad things.
Stay warm – and healthy.
