An organizational meeting for Neighbors Helping Neighbors – the annual holiday food drive now in its 35th year – will be held Monday (Nov. 18) at the Methow Valley Senior Center in Twisp beginning at 9 a.m.

Organizer Jennifer Elden said the food drive served more than 120 local families in need last year, and the organization will need at least 75 volunteers again this year for a variety of tasks. Those include putting out collection jars, distributing posters, collecting and sorting food donations, packing the food, and delivering the bags. Distribution will be on Dec. 21.

Donations come from donation jars at local businesses, school food drives, and food drop-offs at several locations. Elden said the number of local families benefiting from the drive has increased over the past several years.

More details will be available after Monday’s meeting, Elden said. For more information, call her at 996-4343.
