The Senior Center board is sponsoring a Veterans Day lunch on Monday (Nov. 11) for all veterans and one guest. The ceremonies will begin at 11 a.m., including a presentation of colors by the American Legion Auxiliary with songs by Hank Cramer. Sue Sabin will also be playing the flute.
The lunch menu includes ham, baked potato, corn, salad and garlic bread. And cake. Please bring any memorabilia (uniforms, pictures, medals, etc.) you would like to share. Please get the word out to any veteran you may know. We hope all branches and all ages will be represented. This is our way of thanking veterans for their service to our country.
The regular nutrition lunch program is closed that day, as it is a scheduled holiday for them. The Rummage Room will also be closed.
Lloyd Bjerge is our senior of the month for November – and also our oldest veteran.
Be sure to get your flu shot if you haven’t already. Got to keep that nasty flu bug away from us. And watch for black ice spots on the roads – they are sneaky and can send you into the ditch or over the bank. Drive carefully.
