The Methow Valley Inn hosts a “Readers Evening in the Garden” on Wednesday, Aug. 21.

Six diverse presenters – Donald McLane, Abby Miller, David Asia, Patrick McGann, Patti Allen-Lehman and Okanogan High School student Stephanie Castillo – will read their original works and the works of others in an outdoor setting, under the leafy canopy of the inn’s courtyard.

The readings will start at 7 p.m. An optional brown-bag dinner starting at 6 p.m. is available by reservation. Dinner is $12. The menu includes a fresh basil/mozzarella sandwich or a barbecue chicken sandwich, potato salad, and an ice cream sundae for dessert.

Illuminated by candles and surrounded by art, “the evening is magical,” said organizer and garden art curator Theresa Miller. “The goal is to sit in the garden in the evening and listen to the human voice, removed from the realities of daily life,” she said.

Seating is limited. Reservations may be made by calling 997-2253. The Methow Valley Inn is located at 234 E. Second Ave. in Twisp.
